Type Locality and Naming
These suites were delineated by N.G. Vlasov and I.V. Pyzyanov (Vlasov, 1961, 1963).

Lithology and Thickness
It is further divided into Aspandous, Ushkarv, and Jax Fm. Overall, they are formed by variegated and greenish tuffites, diabases, their tuffs and tuff-breccias, tuffaceous sandstones with interbeds and lenses of chalcedony, limestones, conglomerates with a total thickness of about 6000 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
They lie conformably on the Kalaykhumb Fm (калайхумбской свите) of Tournaisian and Visean age
Upper contact
They are overlain discordantly by the Late Bashkirian - Early Carboniferous Vozgin Fm (возгинской свитой) or Upper Moscovian - Upper Carboniferous limestones.
Regional extent
They are distributed in the territory of Darvaz.

Fossils
In the lower part of the section, according to I.V. Pyzyanov) there are remains of Goniatites Goniatites ex gr. granosus Portlock, Paragoniates newsoni (Smith.), Platygoniatites molaris Ruz., Cravenoceras sp., Uralopronorites mirus Lib., characteristic of the very lowest horizons of the Serpukhovian (Namurian) stage. In the middle part of the section, Visean-Serpukhovian corals Carcinophyllum (?) cf. septentrionale Gorsky; Lonsdaleia cf. tenuicolumnata Dobrol., L. cf. elegans Dobrol.; foraminifers Bradyina cf. cribrostomata Raus. et Reitl., Archaediscus vischerensis Grozd. et Leb., A. aff. conveksus Grozd. et Leb., Asterodiscus baschkiricus (Theod. et Krest.) are found. In the upper part of the section, there are re-deposited organic remains of Visean-Serpukhovian age.
